Are you aware of the origin of the Playing for Change phenomena? I did some posts on them back in 2009 here, here, here, and one in 2010 here. PBS ran a spot on them in 2003. Basically, different types of musical entities played to the same track, and the meshed sound was recorded. It started off with an observation of street musicians in different countries, and morphed.
