Movin' On Up

Sherman Helmsley (1938 - 2012) moved on up to a deluxe apartment in the sky.  Thanks for the laughs!

Yet More Creatures at the Warehouse

This cutie was outside in the parking lot right where we needed to put a trailer to the dock. Our yard spotter called me to tell me about him so I, obviously, went to get him to move him to a safer place in the front yard of the building. We had to make a pit stop in the office so I could take his picture.

This (yet another) insect is a green silk worm moth found (dead) in a storage stow in the middle of the warehouse. Such neat coloring...like camouflage.

Big Ass Dragon Fly

Apparantly, the warehouse is a haven for big, cool insects. This guy was mostly dead when he was discovered by one of the drivers. The coloring is pretty neat. I think his eyes are cool.

Nikon This Day

I stumbled across this neat website today.  It takes you through a brief history of events coinciding with the current date (month and day) and the preceeding week. It's worth a look-see here.

Imperial Moth

This large moth was walking towards me on my way to the restroom at work this morning.  It was pretty amazing...this picture does not do it justice. S and I put it outside so it didn't get smashed under someone's tires.

Uncanny Resemblance

If this guy (Tom Cruise)
and this guy (Michael J. Fox) had a baby and he grew up...

I think he would look like this guy (Chad Decker).

Communication (And the Lack Thereof)

COMMUNICATION - The answer to the problem and a problem to the answer.

So I was supposed to have a scheduled meeting today at 10:00 a.m. with my direct supervisor and the facility manager on "communication best practices". The downward slope of communication has been quite the challenge lately and I have been getting left out of the loop. (Kinda dumb since I run the floor operations). Great idea, huh? Well only if the facility manager can communicate that he won't be in for the "best practices" meeting that he scheduled. What the f**k ever!!

Big Mama

My favorite hymn is 'His Eye Is On The Sparrow'. I've heard lots of versions by lots of singers.  This is my favorite rendition. (Keep in mind that these women are Korean).

The Fishin' Hole

With the passing of Andy Griffith this past Tuesday, J and I were talking about him today at work.  He told me he learned something yesterday and it was something I also did not know.  He told me about a vocal version of the 'Andy Griffith Show' theme sung by Andy himself called 'The Fishin' Hole'.  I did know Andy sang and studied music when he was young, but had no idea there was a vocal version of the well-known whistle theme.  I was able to find it and upload it below.  (It does still have the famous whistle, too).  :)

6/29 Storm

These pictures cannot fully represent the extent of the damage caused by the storm that came through Ohio last Friday.  Most of the damage was sustained on the south side of the city, but by no means exclusively.  It was estimated that 20,000 people were without power Friday.  The power is slowly coming back, but there are still over 10,000 without. The Chapa abode is still without power, but thankfully, no major damage was sustained to the house.  One piece of fascia blew off the side of the house and one big limb from a tree in the front of the house fell onto the ground. Not a big deal considering some of the damage I saw to other people's homes.
