My heart is saddened this week to learn that after five months of waiting and anticipating his return to work after some extensive medical procedures, my best work buddy will sadly, never be coming back.  He has decided that it is in his best interest to give up the proverbial 9 to 5.  He is better in some ways, but not in all.  He needs to be healthy, he needs to heal.  I will miss him terribly and his absence at work will leave an absence in my heart, but his well-being is his necessity...my necessity.
One day at a time...

Lexi & Aiden With Santa (And A Goofy Elf)

Findlay Flood Of December

Findlay's at it again. We should change our name from Flag City, USA to Flood City, USA.  It looks like we'll have a wet, sloppy Christmas this year.

Gingerbread house time. This year was a house and train.  The train was tricky, but they had lots of fun!

The Westboro Baptists

I have never been one for organized religion and would never consider myself to be a religious person for many, many reasons.  Here would be one good example of why.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.  It turns what we have into enough and more.  It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.  It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

(click on link for zoomed view)

Michelle Clement designed this flowchart for a class assignment in which she was asked to intervene somehow in the current public construction of gender.  She focuses on how sexual orientation is largely assumed based on aesthetic appearance, otherwise known as 'gender expression.'
