Black And Yellow With Eight Legs

I spotted this garden spider in the sedum Saturday while closing the pool. My fear of spiders is overwhelming at times, but this colorful spider is kind of intriguing to me. It looks like it has some black female alien standing with her hands on her hips. (And clearly, I have a weird imagination).   :-)

Closing Up The Pool And A Hot Air Balloon

V and I were working on getting the pool ready to put the cover on today when she said she saw a hot air balloon coming towards the house flying very low. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but they were low enough to wave and to tell us the pool looked nice.  We watched them go across the next two yards and then eventually land in a field just past that.  Incidentally, this is one of the same balloons I took a picture of at the illumination of the hot air balloons earlier this summer.
See this post.

The long-awaited sequel to THE SHINING, DOCTOR SLEEP is being released today. Described by King himself as "A balls-to-the-wall, keep-the-lights-on horror," DOCTOR SLEEP follows Danny Torrance, now a middle aged hospice worker and the very special twelve-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals - a gang of wandering psychic vampires who feed on people's energy.

Below are the Lettered Edition, the Limited Edition and the Deluxe Slipcased Gift Edition covers.

Say What?

Picture taken at one of the local gas stations at about 3.30 p.m.  That's some kind of typo!

To V:

The simple act of holding your hand is a gift to my soul.

"Holding hands is a way to remember how it feels to say nothing together."

Tree

I have always been fond of looking at this tree that lives in it's own alcove of this building.  I've driven past it for years.  I finally decided to take a couple pictures of it.
