There was a fire in Findlay yesterday morning in an old building across the street from one of the tallest buildings (Marathon) in the downtown area. The building housed 32 apartments (20 occupied) on the upper floors and 3 businesses on the lower floor. The fire broke out at approximately 4:00 in the morning and burned most of the day. These pictures were taken by a friend of my boss's wife who was on top of the Marathon building in the early stages of the fire-fighting operation. The roof collapsed and according to the local paper, the estimated total loss is $662,000. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The building is now just a brick shell and will probably have to be demolished.
